Our Story

“I didn’t understand what was happening to me, I didn’t understand why it was happening to me, and it was becoming really painful to live with. There were many times where I just wanted that pain to go away.”

Hollow Heart Vision

Piers had the idea behind Hollow Heart in 2022. Like any good idea it was simple.

His vision was to give people the confidence to start having conversations about their mental health and wellbeing sooner, so they did not feel alone and would be able to find the support they needed.

By wearing the Hollow Heart pin it shows others that you are offering a safe and compassionate space to talk about mental health and wellbeing. It might help someone start the conversation sooner, and it might even save someone’s life.

Hollow Heart was officially launched in September 2022. At the start of 2023 Hollow Heart became a community interest company (CIC).

Piers is growing Hollow Heart through the help and support of businesses, organisations and individuals. Be part of it.

Watch the Founder, Piers Stacey, talk about where the idea of the Hollow Heart pin came from. He relives his personal struggle of transitioning from a 19yr career in the Royal Marines and Royal Navy to the civilian world and speaks about his journey. It’s a troubling story that will be familiar to many but it is also a story full of hope.
